Local Ducks Raised Naturally in Minh Huong commune, Ham Yen District
Established in 2018 with seven members, the cooperative now collaborates with residents in Minh Huong, Tan Thanh, Binh Xa, and Phu Luu communes to raise ducks. The total flock exceeds 71,000, yielding an annual meat output of 130 tons.
The Minh Huong duck breed is renowned as the finest in Tuyen Quang. This local breed is raised in natural conditions, with access to pristine spring water from the Cham Chu Special-Use Forest and natural feed sources. In 2016, the Minh Huong Duck trademark was recognized by the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam.
By 2020, Minh Huong ducks achieved a 3-star OCOP certification. In 2023, the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association (VCCA) awarded Minh Huong Duck the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Cuisine during Phase I of its 2022 certification program. This recognition is part of the project “Developing Vietnamese Culinary Culture into a National Brand, 2022-2024.”
