Professionalizing Tourism Activities
The Tuyên Quang Tourism Year event, held at the end of April, served as a key highlight in promoting and connecting tourism development. Before the official opening ceremony, the province strategically selected potential provinces and cities to host promotional conferences. In 2023, it was held in Ho Chi Minh City, and in 2024, in Đà Nẵng city.
These conferences gathered key stakeholders in domestic tourism promotion and media. In 2024, Tuyên Quang marked the third consecutive year of organizing the Tourism Year program and Viet Nam’s largest Hot Air Balloon Festival, featuring pilots from various countries. The province also showcased hundreds of traditional handicraft products and introduced the new Mỹ Lâm Mineral Spring tourism product, dubbed the "Miraculous Spring Source".
The year 2024 was a turning point for the province's tourism industry, marked by several new initiatives. Notably, Tuyên Quang established its first-ever Tourism Association. This association serves as a unifying platform, amplifying the voices of tourism businesses, accommodations, and travel agencies while fostering collaboration with government authorities. By addressing industry challenges and facilitating dialogue, the association strengthens the competitiveness of Tuyên Quang’s tourism sector.
Spreading the Love for Tourism
In 2024, Tuyên Quang continued implementing its initiative to revamp the Thành Tuyên Festival. Activities surrounding the festival were meticulously planned and professionally executed well in advance, aligning with major national and provincial events.
A major milestone in early 2024 was the inauguration of the Tân Trào Tourism Reception Center, a key component of the Tân Trào Destination Centre Project. This complex includes a five-star hotel and a range of high-end services, featuring an architectural design deeply rooted in local cultural heritage. The five-star heritage city, with 2,000 rooms, is expected to attract visitors year-round.
Additionally, 2024 marked the second consecutive year that the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism hosted the "Cinema and Tourism Promotion Program in Tuyên Quang." This initiative effectively showcases the province’s landscapes, people, cultural identity, and economic potential through cinematic works, positioning film as a powerful tool for tourism marketing.
Thanks to these professional and innovative approaches, despite the impact of natural disasters, Tuyên Quang welcomed over 2.8 million visitors in 2024, achieving 105% of the target set by the 17th Provincial Party Congress Resolution.
